Fleet FAQ? Fleet Tracking and Telematics

Q. Is there an option to install the devices ourselves?

October 11, 2017, by Todd Ewing - Also by this author

A. There are no explicit FMCSA requirements that a manufacturer must install ELDs on the fleet vehicles, so fleets can install ELD devices themselves. However, there may be reasons—including ensuring ELD functionality and compliance—that a fleet should consider turning to a professional ELD installer, either one provided by the manufacturer or by a trusted third-party.
