Gasoline Falls to $3.66 Per Gallon

The national average price of gasoline fell 1.6 cents to $3.668 for the week ending May 12, according to federal data.

Gasoline's three-month price advance ended a week ago; however the price still remains higher that a year ago when it was 6.5 cents more costly. This week, the price inched lower in six of the nine regions tracked by the U.S. Department of Energy. Gasoline costs at least $3.50 per gallon in 37 of the 50 states, according to the AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

Meanwhile, the national average price of diesel fell 1.6 cents to $3.948 per gallon during the week. Diesel now costs 8.2 cents more than it did a year ago.
