Gasoline Stays Flat at $3.35 Per Gallon

The national average price of gasoline remained flat and rose one-tenths of a cent to $3.354 per gallon for the week ending Sept. 29, according to federal data.

The price of a gallon of regular unleaded now costs 7.1 cents less than it did a year ago. The average price fell in six of the nine regions tracked by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The sharpest decline came in the Rocky Mountain region where gasoline fell 5 cents to $3.494 per gallon.

The average price of gasoline now costs at least $3.50 in 12 states and the District of Columbia, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

Meanwhile, the national average price of diesel fell 2.3 cents to $3.755 per gallon. Diesel now costs 16.4 cents less than it did a year ago.
