Hyundai Motor will offer a new hydrogen fuel cell utility vehicle that's part of the company's goal of increasing the number of its green vehicle models in the next five years.

The vehicle will be powered hy Hyundai's fourth-generation fuel cell propulsion system that offers a significant improvement over the Tucson Fuel Cell compact SUV now offered with a retail lease.

The new SUV would increase efficiency by 9% over the Tucson Fuel Cell and provide a driving range of 580 kilometers (360 miles) based on Korean testing standards.

Hyundai and Kia hope to introduce 31 eco-friendly models by 2020, including a battery-electric version of Hyundai's 2018 Kona subcompact SUV, a Genesis EV model in 2021, and a long-range EV with a range of 500 kilometers (310 miles) after 2021.
