Parkatmyhouse.com, a U.K.-based company, has launched a U.S. version of its website that allows residential and commercial property owners to rent out their private parking spaces to other residents and businesses in a peer-to-peer model, or what is becoming known as “collaborative consumption.”

According to the company website and press releases, the expansion was made possible after long-term capital investments were made by BMWi Ventures back in July 2011. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.

You can sign up for free on the site to rent out a space, in which the site will help you figure out how much your space is worth, or sign up as a driver looking for parking. The site states that more than 40,000 property owners have rented out spaces in the UK.
