All sedans tested were equipped with standard four-cylinder engines and automatic transmissions. Scoring was based on the following categories: exterior, interior, driving dynamics, active and passive safety, crash ratings and value.

Other vehicles tested were the 2008 Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and the 2009 Hyundai Sonata. Falling in second place was the Honda Accord, followed by the Altima. The Fusion finished last due to its four-star crash ratings in several areas compared to the five-star ratings of its competitors.
