Volvo has detailed the engines it will offer in its V60 sportswagon, which is set to arrive in the U.S. in January 2014. The V60 will feature an engine from one of the automaker’s new Drive-E family for the front-wheel-drive model and two engines from Volvo’s existing lineup for the all-wheel-drive models.

For the front-wheel-drive mode, Volvo will offer a four-cylinder 2.0L turbocharged engine from the Drive-E family. This engine is capable of producing 240 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. The other two engines, available with the all-wheel-drive versions, will include the 2.5L five-cylinder T5 engine and the six-cylinder 3.0L T6 engine.

Volvo noted that the smaller, lighter weight Drive-E engines can deliver improved fuel economy and reduced emissions, ranging from 13 to 26 percent (depending on which older Volvo engine used for comparison). The automaker plans to release official fuel economy figures for this vehicle at a later date.
