Sales of vehicles to commercial fleets rose 0.9 percent in November as trucks, vans, and SUVs continued to drive fleet sales. Through 11 months of 2014, fleet sales have risen 8 percent over the previous year, according to Automotive Fleet data.

Sales of trucks, vans, and SUVs increased 9.3 percent to 39,353 for the month compared to November of 2013, while cars fell 31.1 percent to 6,517. Six manufacturers sold 45,870 fleet vehicles, an increase of 394 from the 45,476 sold a year ago.

So far this year, the nine manufacturers have sold 548,663 commercial fleet vehicles. The 40,787 additional units represent an 8 percent increase from the first 11 months of 2013.
