Volkswagen is considering selling a European-style van and possibly a pickup truck in the U.S. market, a commercial vehicle executive said in Germany on Wednesday.

The automaker is "looking at both options intensively," said Eckhard Scholz, head of the light commercial vehicle unit, reports Bloomberg.

Volkswagen is the world's second largest automaker but sells its trucks or vans outside of the U.S. market. VW sells the Amarok pickup, which is smaller than the Ford F-150. VW's light commercial vehicle division also sells the Caddy, Crafter, and T5 vans and minibuses outside of the U.S.

Its U.S. utility lineup includes the Tiguan mid-size SUV and Tourag compact SUV.
