Level III Data Capture: An Essential Tool for Fleet Managers

11/6/2012

Data can help empower fleet managers to make timely financial decisions, without leaving it to the discretion of drivers. Knowing what’s being spent, and how, empowers managers to make the right purchasing decisions.

That’s where Level III data capture can help. Level III data capture is enhanced transaction detail which helps identify the “where” and “when” behind purchases, but also the “who”, “what”, and “how”.

This tool can help fleets run more smoothly and cost-efficiently, by pinpointing problem areas before they spin out of control. Without Level III data, fleet managers would need to manually audit statements to discover potential problems.

Biobased Chemicals Bring Big Benefits to Fleets

10/11/2012

Like alternative power options and fuel economy projects, the use of biobased chemicals offers performance without tradeoffs while reducing dependence on petroleum and helping attain energy independence and sustainability goals.  Biobased industrial products are readily biodegradable and non-hazardous, safeguarding the environment in event of a release or spill as well as the employees that come into contact with them. This presentation will explore the benefits of switching to biobased cleaners, degreasers and lubricants to not only improve the safety and efficiency of day-to-day operations, but positively impact the bottom line and contribute to corporate sustainability goals.

KEY POINTS:

  • Contrary to popular belief, today’s biobased products have been specifically engineered to work in demanding industrial and fleet applications.  In many cases, biobased products work better than conventional options or provide unique features petroleum-based options cannot.
  • Safety considerations are just as important in the shop as they are out in the field.  Biobased solutions are safer for the employees using them each day and reduce the hazards associated with many petroleum-based counterparts without sacrificing performance.
  • Biobased formulas leave soil and water as nature intended, protecting the environment from damage and reducing mitigation costs and fines in the event of a release or spill.
  • There is no one-size-fits-all solution. By working collaboratively to tailor biobased industrial products to specific use, end users can often capture significant benefits throughout system life.

Fleet Cards vs. Generic Credit Cards: Containing a Fleet's Fuel Costs

7/24/2012

With gas prices back on the rise, now more than ever fleet managers must tightly monitor and contain their fleet’s fuel costs. For large and small fleets alike, doing so requires the right information presented in the right way.

Join us as we compare and contrast the practicality of both fleet cards and credit cards for managing fleet fuel spend. Both proprietary fleet cards and bank-issued credit cards offer fleet managers the ability to track and set controls on their fuel spend, but oftentimes the similarities end there. Fleet managers need the ability to provide in-depth transaction data, greater flexibility and tighter controls in order to effectively manage their budget. Many programs do not offer this level of reporting and control.

Some of the items on the agenda include the following:

  • Why fleet managers need a card backed by a proprietary network
  • How fleet cards allow for tighter controls, and minimize spending abuse and fraud
  • Why a wide acceptance network for Level III data matters most of all
  • How you may be losing money by getting limited or no Level III data

The Emerging Trend of Simultaneous Remarketing on Multiple Online Platforms

By Mike Antich
When you electronically buy an airline ticket, you do so through an electronic hub, such as Egencia. When realtors electronically list homes for sale, they use a multiple listing service for all other realtors to simultaneously see the property listing. Many see comparable change occurring for the remarketing of vehicles in the wholesale market. The consensus among remarketers is not “if” this will occur, but “when.” And, just as important, most see it happening sooner, rather than later
