Volvo Unveils Cyclist Detection Safety Feature with Auto Brake - Industry News

A cyclist in the same lane swerving out in front of the car is one incident type that is addressed by Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection with full auto brake, which will be available in the Volvo V40, S60, V60, XC60, V70, XC70 and S80 models from mid-May this year.

NTSB Advocates Making Collision-Avoidance Technologies Standard Equipment - Industry News

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said those technologies include lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring and speed-limiting systems.

One new feature, a first in a Chevrolet vehicle, is full-speed-range adaptive cruise control, which uses radar to sense traffic in front of the vehicle and adjust its speed, including stopping and accelerating again.
