The Volvo Car Group released the first images of the interior of the redesigned 2015 XC90 mid-size luxury SUV that includes a tablet-sized touch screen built into the dash.

Volvo has previously announced it would incorporate Apple's CarPlay interface into its infotainment system. An iOS device's icons will appear on the XC90 screen alongside Volvo content.

The seating has also been redesigned to free up interior space for passengers in the second and third rows in a vehicle that seats seven including the driver. Options include ventilation and massage functions.

The 2015 XC90 will also feature a four-zone climate system with individual settings for occupants in the front seats and the second row. An additional air-conditioning unit for the third row will be standard or optional depending on the market.
