Subaru has been named the top automotive brand by Kelley Blue Book as having the best perception among buyers, while Ford and Lexus also earned honors among the 2017 Brand Image awards.

Subaru was named the best overall brand, while Ford won recognition as the top truck brand and Lexus was the top luxury brand, KBB announced on April 11. The company gave 13 awards, including six for non-luxury, six for luxury, and one for trucks.

Subaru earned three awards, including most trusted brand and best performance brand. GMC, Mazda, and Honda earned most refined brand, best car styling brand, and best value brand respectively.

In addition to the top luxury award, Lexus also won most trusted luxury brand. Buick, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Jaguar won best value brand, most refined luxury brand, best performance luxury brand, and best car styling luxury brand respectively.

"Superior product lineups and compelling marketing communications from automakers continue to influence consumer opinion, driving interest in particular brands and positively affecting vehicle consideration," said Rick Wainschel, vice president of customer analytics and insights for Kelley Blue Book. "Many of this year's winners continue to attract car shoppers based on a variety of brand attributes, and these standouts reinforce familiarity and loyalty among new-car buyers."
