Acura has announced that its all-new MDX luxury SUV will be priced starting at $34,370 when it goes on sale today.

The MDX is available with two factory options: a Touring Package featuring additional luxury features priced at $2,600, and the satellite-linked Acura Navigation system for $2,000.

All MDX models sold nationwide will meet California's stringent Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle standards with EPA city/highway ratings of 17 and 23 miles per gallon, which is the best overall fuel economy in its class, according to Acura executive vice president Dick Colliver.

Powered by an all-aluminum 3.5-liter, DOHC, 24-valve V6 producing 240 horsepower and 245 lb./ft. of torque, the MDX has a five-speed automatic transmission standard on all models. The MDX features a seven-passenger interior with second- and third-row seats that split and fold flat into the floor to accommodate various passenger and cargo carrying configurations.

The optional Touring package adds a two-position driver's seat and mirror memory system; eight-way power adjustable passenger seat; roof rack; reverse-mode tilting passenger mirror; and an upgraded 200-watt, eight-speaker Acura/Boase music system with in-dash, six-disc CD changer.

Available as a stand alone factory option, the Acura Navigation System with DVD contains mapping of the entire continental U.S. and features a nationwide directeory of 3.7 million points of interest, restaurants, hotels, and ATMs.
