TravRoute has announced that Pocket CoPilot has won a 2001 Innovations Award from the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the fourth time in four years TravRoute has received this award. Pocket CoPilot provides all the power of a laptop-based GPS navigation system on portable Pocket PC mobile devices, according to Troy Ewanchyna, vice president of marketing at TravRoute. Features include a rotating map function that corresponds with the direction of your vehicle, real-time mileage countdown to your next turn and to your destination, complete street-level map coverage of the entire continental U.S., and nationwide points of interest. Pocket CoPilot comes complete with a pinpoint accurate GPS receiver measuring less than 3 inches in diameter. “Pocket CoPilot is the only product of its kind," Ewanchyna said. "We’ve taken the power and accuracy of our route guidance and combined it with the convenience and portability of a Pocket PC device. The Innovations award reiterates what an invaluable mobile productivity tool Pocket CoPilot can be.” Pocket CoPilot is used by installing the TravRoute-provided Pocket CoPilot software on your desktop or laptop computer and transferring the map data by region to the Pocket PC device. "Pocket CoPilot guides users to their destination and even calculates a new route in seconds if you happen to go off course," Ewanchyna said. The CES Innovations award is presented annually in recognition of perfection and excellence in design, and is considered to be the consumer electronics industry's most prestigious award. The Innovations 2001 award program was held in conjunction with the 2001 International CES, January 6-9, 2001. Innovations 2001 is endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' (IEEE) Consumer Electronics Society and is sponsored and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).
