Chrysler Mulls Trucks to Lure Young Buyers

DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group will decide within a few months whether to develop a Jeep sport-utility vehicle and a Dodge pickup truckthat would sell for less than $20,000 to increase sales to younger buyers, according to Bloomberg News.The third-largest U.S. automaker is studying whether it can afford to build production versions of the Dodge M80 pickup and the JeepWillys2 or Compass sport utilities, said James Schroer, Chrysler's sales and marketing chief.The Dodge M80 and Jeep Compass were among the more well-received concept vehicles at this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Along with the Willys2, the conceptswere conceived as under-$20,000 models for youthful buyers.
