The American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) has released the 2002 edition of the poster series entitled "Did You Know These Vehicle Are Made In The U.S.A.?" demonstrating the continued globalization of the automobile industry. More than 30 international nameplate vehicles are now manufactured in the U.S., and overseas automakers have invested billions in American manufacturing operations, expanding their facilities and building new and innovative vehicles. International nameplate vehicles built in the U.S. include: Acura CL - Marysville, Ohio Acura TL - Marysville, Ohio BMW X5 - Spartanburg, S.C. BMW Z3 - Spartanburg, S.C. Honda Accord - Marysville, Ohio Honda Civic - East Liberty, Ohio Honda Odyssey - Lincoln, Ala. Isuzu Ascender - Morraine, Ohio Isuzu Axiom - Lafayette, Ind. Isuzu Rodeo - Lafayette, Ind. Isuzu Rodeo Sport - Lafayette, Ind. Mazda 626 - Flat Rock, Mich. Mazda Truck - Edison, N.J. Mazda Tribute - Kansas City, Mo. Mercedes-Benz M-Class - Vance, Ala. Mitsubishi Eclipse - Normal, Ill. According to AIADA, very international nameplate manufacturer has offices and investments across the United States, and the 10,000 dealerships that sell and service their brands provide nearly 420,000 American jobs. "In today's global economy, the word 'import' is often inaccurate when referring to the products of foreign-based auto manufacturers," said AIADA President Walter Huizenga.
