Teletrac, Inc., provider of metro and regional fleet location information systems,
announced the launch of an independent agent sales program. In
addition to its own direct sales force, Teletrac says it is now authorizing
independent agents to sell its wireless fleet tracking products to
commercial vehicle fleet owners.
Teletrac says it is looking for independent technology resellers throughout the U.S.
that have wireless and electronic products in their portfolios. Teletrac's
flagship wireless fleet tracking system, FleetDirector, gives commercial
vehicle fleet owners in major metropolitan areas across the U.S. the ability
to track the location of their vehicles in real time. FleetDirector also
increases security by enabling fleet owners to locate and recover stolen
vehicles, according to the company. The independent agent sales program gives Teletrac a way to
further penetrate geographical regions that have FleetDirector coverage.
"Our new independent agent sales program presents an optimal situation to
all parties involved," said Tim Van Cleve, COO of Teletrac. "It will further
Teletrac's growth and ability to serve all markets where FleetDirector
offers service and it will give wireless technology resellers a new and
profitable business opportunity."
According to the company, the program enables independent agents who currently provide fleet owners
with other technology products, such as cell phones and pagers, to expand
their product offerings and introduce their existing customer base to a new
type of technology that streamlines business management. All Teletrac
customers, whether they buy from independent sales agents or Teletrac's
inside sales force, have access to Teletrac's 24 hour a day, 7 days a week
customer support center once the product is installed. All agents will be
qualified and trained by Teletrac.
