Wright Express announced it has signed eight new customers to its recently launched Roadsmith fleet management program, expanding the company's reach into the regional petroleum distributor market. The latest partners bring to 10 the number of companies that have signed on with the new program that Wright Express launched in August specifically to provide specialized services to regional distributors. The new companies include: Waring Oil, Litco Oil, Sayle Oil, Pine Belt, Maples Oil, Gresham Petroleum Company, Buffalo Services and Lincoln Land Oil. "We are pleased with the quick start and solid development of our Roadsmith program as illustrated by these latest partners," said Gary Robbins, vice president and general manager of partner and merchant relationships. "In just a few short months, we believe Roadsmith is already filling a real gap that existed in the fleet industry. Roadsmith is a full service outsource option for petroleum merchants. Companies can focus on their store operations and building brand loyality in their local markets while Wright Express process and supports their fleet card program." The companies collectively operate about 250 sites, mostly in Mississippi. Litco operates some sites in Tennessee while Lincoln Land Oil operates all of its sites in Illinois. Wright Express, a provider of fleet management services, launched Roadsmith after acquiring the FleetSmart program in the summer of 2002. The retooled Roadsmith program was then developed and launched to help regional distributors attract more fleet business, thus boosting fuel and convenience store sales, according to the company. South Portland-based Wright Express is a provider of fleet charge cards to the fleet maintenance and fueling industry with its cards accepted at more than 160,000 locations. Wright Express also provides information management, payment processing, and financial services to fleets through card partnerships with oil companies and fleet management companies. Through its own universal fleet card program, its partners' card programs and its MasterCard program, Wright Express has nearly four million commercial cards in its markets. Wright Express LLC, a subsidiary of Cendant Corp., employs more than 640 people at its headquarters in South Portland, Maine and its subsidiary in Salt Lake City, Utah.
