Dodge Commemorates One Millionth Cummins-Powered Dodge Ram With Truck Giveaway

The one-millionth Cummins diesel engine built for theDodge Ram Heavy Duty was shipped from Cummins' Columbus, Ind. factoryMay 12. To commemorate the milestone, Dodge says it will hand off the keys of itsone-millionth Cummins diesel-powered Ram to a sweepstakes winner."Dodge Ram Cummins diesel owners are the most loyal Dodge customers," saidDarryl Jackson, vice president of Dodge Marketing. "What better way tothank our loyal Dodge Ram owners than to give away a new Ram Heavy Duty,the Motor Trend Truck of the Year.""The one-millionth Cummins-powered Ram is the result of a very successfulpartnership. With the help of the Cummins team, we have redefined themeaning of tough trucks and set new standards for capability in theheavy-duty pickup segment," added Jackson. "Dodge has the longest lastinglineup of pickups on the market, and the Cummins diesels are a big part ofthat."Cummins says it has supplied Dodge with diesel engines since 1989 and has becomethe benchmark for diesel power in the heavy-duty segment. Since 1989, the straight-six Cummins Turbo Diesel engine hasincreased its horsepower and torque ratings by 91-percent and 39-percent,respectively, culminating in the current High Output Cummins Turbo Diesel,which delivers 305 horsepower and 555 lb.-ft. of torque. Fitted with theHigh Output Cummins Turbo Diesel, the Dodge Ram Heavy Duty features agross combined vehicle weight rating (GCVW) of 23,000 lbs."We are thrilled to reach this milestone in our partnership with Dodge,"said Joe Loughrey, Cummins executive vice president - Engine Business. Beginning this summer, the One Millionth Dodge RamCummins will be on display throughout the PRCA rodeo circuit.
