According to Honda, May sales of Acura vehicles totaled 16,495, setting a new all-time monthly record besting the previous mark of 16,333 units set in August 2002, and surpassing last May’s total of 16,229. Strong demand for the all-new 2004 TSX sports sedan pushed sales to 2,275 units for the month. “It looks like we’ve hit the mark with the new TSX sports sedan,” said Dick Colliver, executive vice president, sales. “If initial demand is any indication, customers are drawn to the vehicle’s sporty performance and class-leading feature content.” MDX sales of 5,089 units during May pushed Acura year-to-date light truck sales to 23,021 up 3.9 percent compared to last year. Acura division automobile sales totaled 11,406 with sales of the TL reaching 4,883 and RSX sales totaling 2,815 for the month. May sales of the Acura NSX supercar were more than double that of the previous year, according to the company.
