Safe-Vue System Designed to Help Clear Windshields Year-Round

September 4, 2003

The Safe-Vue washer solvent heater from Rostra Precision Controls works year-round by heating windshield washer solvent to melt ice and snow, remove road oils, tree sap, insects and other dirt or film, according to the company.Suitable for use in virtually any vehicle from commercial trucks to passenger vehicles, the patented system automatically heats the solvent in a separate reservoir within 90 seconds of a cold start, is thermostatically controlled to prevent overheating, and is insulated to continuously and safely keep the fluid warm, according to Thomas Weiss, vice president, automotive accessories group, Rostra Precision Controls."The Safe-Vue system is a perfect aftermarket option for any type of vehicle," Weiss said. "While its most obvious use is to keep windshields clean and clear of snow and ice in cold regions, it also is useful during the summertime or in warmer climates, because it easily takes care of road tar and grime, insects, tree sap and other materials that can obscure the view."Safe-Vue installs in line in the factory washer supply hose that connects the reservoir to the nozzles. The nozzles are mounted at the base of the windshield, in the hood or on the wiper arms. The system also is suitable for headlamp washer systems and its compact design takes up little space under the hood, according to Rostra. The system retails for $85, and carries a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty.About Rostra Precision ControlsRostra Precision Controls, headquartered in Laurinburg, N.C., is a supplier of vehicle speed control systems, transmission components and vehicle comfort seating systems to the global automotive aftermarket industry. The company also is a manufacturer of electronic controls, systems and components for the original equipment automotive industry.
