The Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR) -- the original vehicle remarketing conference, established in 1996, and the only truly independent remarketing industry conference -- comes to the Las Vegas strip Jan. 21-23, 2004. With more than 500 attendees each year, including the top factory, fleet lease, rental car, and bank remarketers, CAR, often referred to as the "Consignor's Show," has over the years attracted formal groups like the International Automotive Remarketing Alliance (IARA), as well as the independent auction association to co-locate their meetings with CAR. CAR has become the only industry event allowing major consignors to meet and network with industry vendors and experts from every facet of the remarketing sector, according to show organizers. The 2004 CAR speaker lineup features two of the industry’s most influential leaders in automotive remarketing: Don Esmond, senior vice president and general manager, Toyota Division and Chip Perry, president and CEO of AutoTrader.com. An exciting CAR keynote luncheon speaker will be Gretchen Joyce, director of the autos category of eBay Motors, the Internet’s largest marketplace for buying and selling all things automotive. As a member of eBay Motors’ management team with more than 15 years of automotive industry experience, she is responsible for ensuring the vibrancy of the marketplace for buyers and sellers alike as well as creating seller programs to build awareness, educate, assist and provide support to sellers on eBay Motors. Other conference presenters will include representatives from J.D. Power and Associates and Kelley Blue Book. “This is my second year as emcee of the Conference of Automotive Remarketing, and I am looking forward to another great show,” said Charlie Vogelheim of Kelley Blue Book. “CAR attracts a broad range of remarketing professionals; it's always a great opportunity for networking.” Guest speakers will share their collective knowledge, industry insights, and market forecasts for 2004 and beyond, January 21-23 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
