Volkswagen of America, Inc. has announced the appointment of Patrick McFall as certified pre-owned (CPO) and fleet sales process leader. The team led by McFall provides CPO marketing communications, dealer training as well as product and industry analysis to support the overall sales initiatives of the company. “The lift-off in the market of the CPO programs clearly shows the ‘win-win-win’ proposition for the customer, the dealers and manufacturers,” McFall said. “It is our team’s job to ensure that Volkswagen earns a strong position in the CPO market. We will energize the second lifecycle generation and help support the dealer network.” Prior to joining Volkswagen, McFall worked as a group marketing director for Advanstar Communications, and marketing and circulation manager at AutoWeek, as well as sales manager, marketing support manager and product planner at Volkswagen and Audi. McFall graduated from Michigan State and Northwood University. He resides in Highland, Mich., with his wife and two daughters. Volkswagen of America, Inc. has sold 41,848 CPO vehicles year-to-date November and is on track to exceed the 45,000-unit goal for 2003. Through this program, buyers of pre-opned cars can purchase Volkswagen vehicles that are between 12-72 months old, have less than 75,000 miles, are certified with a 112-point inspection and are backed by a 24-month, 24,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty.
