Wheels, Inc., specializing in the multi-billion-dollar fleet-leasing industry, on Dec. 10 announced the appointment of Larry Buettner as its chief information officer. Wheels is one of the nation's largest privately owned companies, leasing fleet vehicles to Fortune 1,000 companies. Jim Frank, Wheels' president and CEO, said Buettner will build on the company's successful e-commerce initiatives, as well as focus on the pursuit of highly customer-focused and efficient systems solutions. Prior to joining Wheels, Buettner served as President of Anexsys, a systems integration and payments company. He has been widely recognized for his accomplishments, serving on industry boards and testifying before the U.S. House of Representatives as an expert witness. A recipient of numerous awards, Buettner has been named CIO of the Year by the Data Processing Management Association. Buettner earned bachelor's and master's degrees from St. John's University.
