The Chrysler group is offering shoppers bonuses of up to $1,000, Automotive News said today. The discounts apply to vehicles financed or leased through Chrysler Financial effective May 4, the company said. It is in addition to other applicable discounts. The $1000 bonus applies to the Dodge Durango, Dodge Stratus, light-duty Dodge Ram, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Chrysler Crossfire, Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Liberty and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The 2005 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans carry a $500 incentive. The 2005 Dodge Magnum, now being shipped to dealers, carries a $1,000 Chrysler Financial incentive. "There are customers who are very diligent about researching their financing options," says Kevin McCormick, company spokesman. "We are saying 'Give us some consideration.' We would like to have some of that business." The company also increased the national incentive on the redesigned 2004 Dodge Durango to $3,500, up from $1,500. The discount applies to a purchase or lease.
