Biodiesel Manufacturer Plans to Make the Fuel More Cost Efficient

Northeast Biodiesel, a Massachusetts-based biodiesel company, announced plans to make alternative fuel more available and cost-efficient across the Northeast, the Associated Press reported.Company president Lawrence Union told the wire service that 75 percent of its biodiesel will be sold to Michigan-based Biofuel Brokers to distribute to refineries and wholesale suppliers.After completing construction of its production facility, Northeast Biodiesel should be capable of making 5 million gallons of biodiesel a year from recycled vegetable oil, the report said.Biodiesel can either be used on its own or mixed with petroleum diesel for heating homes and powering autos.Currently, Bean Commercial Grease of Maine it the only company producing biodiesel in New England.
