Ford Motor Co. officials are meeting on Capitol Hill to promote the benefits of alternative technology vehicles to U.S. legislators, according to FuelCellWorks.com. Ford is also in the area to promote its latest hybrid technology to local police officers. In addition to its hybrid technology, Ford has focused on advancements in other alternative fuel areas, which it is also addressing while in the nation’s capital, the Web site reported. Ford is making steps toward alternative energy strategies such as hydrogen internal combustion engines, clean diesels and hydrogen fuel cells. The automaker has said its goal is to build 250,000 hybrids a year by 2010.
