Serves the Commercial Small Fleet Market of 10 – 50 Vehicles

Automotive Design & Production Magazine Announces 2005 Exterior Design Awards

December 21, 2005

PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Automotive Design & Production magazine has announced the winners of its first-ever exterior design awards, which are given to two vehicles released in North America during the 2005 calendar year. The Dodge Charger SRT8 won in the “What Works” category for an “extraordinary execution of a fresh, aggressive product with differentiating features in a market that is characterized by cars with less passionate presence,” according to the magazine. The Charger features ducts in the forward-canted front fascia for brake cooling, a fastback supplemented by a spoiler and five-spoke 20-inch wheels. The Subaru B9 Tribeca won in the G.U.T.S. (Grand Undertaking – Though Strident) category, which recognizes a vehicle and company that is at least attempting to break the strings of design conformity rather than criticize them. The Tribeca won, according to Automotive Design & Production, for trying to create an SUV that is “more than quotidian.”
