Fleet vehicle remarketer Driveitaway Inc. announces that Wilmar Inc., a Charlotte-based fleet leasing and management company, will offer the reDrive remarketing platform to its client base of small fleets, through LeasePlan’s Network Division. The reDrive brand platform will allow Wilmar’s clients to offer their end-of-lease cars, vans and trucks for sale to their drivers and employees before they come off lease. Under the program, fleet managers realize substantially better net proceeds compared to traditional remarketing channels, and buyers can purchase at close-to-wholesale prices. With reDrive, prospective buyers can view comprehensive online information about each vehicle, including a third party inspection report with multiple pictures and a full maintenance history. Family-run Wilmar Inc. is one of the Southeastern United States’ largest independent vehicle management companies, with approximately 4,500 vehicles in service. ”This program levels the playing field between large and small leasing companies,” said Scott Crawford, president of Wilmar Inc. “It’s a great way to cross-promote the vehicles in your clients’ inventories in a more controlled setting and with more comprehensive data than is available on general auction sites.” “We are delighted to have worked with LeasePlan and Wilmar to develop an upstream remarketing program to suit its client profile, “ said John Possumato, Vice Chairman and Founder of Driveitaway. “The majority of fleets have fewer than 50 vehicles, and the Driveitaway platform brings the money-saving benefits to these leasing companies and customers as well.”
