ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Supporters of corn-based E85 fuel are launching a program to encourage the leasing of vehicles that use the fuel, according to a West Central Tribune report. "Flex for the Future" is a new leasing program that offers a special deal on seven flexible fuel vehicle (FFV) models to members of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association and stockholders in AgStar Financial Services. The vehicles can run on any mix of gasoline and/or E85, a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. The three- and five-year leases on E85-ready trucks, sedans and vans, such as the Ford F150 SuperCab and SuperCrew FFV, Dodge Caravan SE FFV and Chevy Impala LT FFV, are open to the members of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association and AgStar stockholders. Although exceptions may apply, virtually anyone joining MCGA is eligible for the program. Participants in Flex for the Future also get a $500 debit card for E85 fuel, no mileage limitations and a one-year membership in the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition.
