ORLANDO, Fla.-- AAA and Parents magazine have named 15 vehicles to its 2006 Best Cars for Families list including, for the first time, a crossover category for vehicles that combine aspects of SUVs, minivans and station wagons. A team of reviewers from both AAA and Parents considered everything from air bags and fuel economy to cup holders and cargo space, and installed child safety and booster seats, to choose vehicles that are among the top crash test performers. The AAA/Parents 2006 Best Cars for Families are:
Sedans: Dodge Charger, Mazda 6, Ford Fusion
Minivans:Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Town & Country
Crossovers/Wagons:Subaru Tribeca, Nissan Murano, Volvo V50
SUVs: Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Equinox, Jeep Commander
Economy: Honda Civic, Mazda 3, Kia Sportage
