Google released this week a new traffic information feature that allows cell phone users to view real-time maps with current freeway traffic conditions. This feature, available on Google Maps, allows users to save routes and received color-coded, updated traffic information for 30 U.S. cities currently. If a mobile device user already has access to Google Maps, the live traffic update feature will automatically be added. Although traffic information is currently only available for the U.S., the ability to save routes in Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Spain exists. Google also announced that users will now be able to customize the appearance of their mobile device’s Personalized Home Page, by using their PC.
