River Edge, New Jersey – On July 12th, SafetyFirst hosted its First Annual meeting for our insurance carrier partners Over fifteen insurance carriers were represented at this event. Included in the agenda were presentations on:
  • The Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS)
  • How insurers are targeting policyholders for enrollment in safety hotline programs
  • The financial impact of loss reductions thru the use of safety hotline programs
  • The methodologies used to calculate the financial impact studies
  • Fatigue, sleep deprivation studies, and strategies to enhance driver alertness (Keynote Topic)
  • GPS Tracking
  • On Line Training and Consulting The key note speaker on the subject of fatigue, sleep deprivation, and driver alertness was Dr. Jerry Krueger -- a research psychologist and a certified professional ergonomist with 40 years experience conducting and directing multidisciplinary research in measurement and prediction of performance of military personnel and of long-haul truck drivers. Dr. Krueger, a retired Army Colonel, is the former commander of the US Amy’s Research Institute of Environmental Medicine in Massachusetts; and he has conducted human factors research at the USA Aeromedical Research Laboratory at Ft. Rucker, Alabama; at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research; at the Army’s Human Engineering Lab; and as a military advisor for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in Vietnam. The seminar was followed by a golf outing at the Mountain Ridge Club in Fairfield, NJ, and a tour of SafetyFirst’s new headquarters and Call Center. Respondents to the post-meeting survey, stated:
