Coca-Cola Enterprises has added five hybrid-electric trucks to their distribution center in the Bronx, NY. The Bronx sales center has 90 trucks servicing customers in Manhattan and the Bronx, the company reports. Over the next year, an additional 120 side load hybrid-electric trucks are set to join the CCE fleet across the country. According to its latest corporate responsibility report, the company’s total delivery fleet consists of 21,000 vehicles. The International 4300 truck, with Eaton Hybrid Technology, meets New York City weight restrictions for use in town and on bridges. A motor/generator, working with the transmission and a 340-volt battery, allows the truck to source electrical power instead of gas when traveling at speeds below 30 MPH.
