Looking for a parking space can be a frustrating experience. But Google has come up with a new application that can make that experience easier for drivers.

Google's new Open Spot app shows drivers where the recently vacated spaces in a parking area are located, according to the "Good" Web site.

With the app, the freshest parking spots show up as red pins, while older ones are labeled with orange or yellow pins. Frequent Open Spot users are rewarded with "karma points."

The app is currently available in the United States, Canada and the Netherlands for phones that run Android 2.0 or higher.
