The GMC Sierra truck lineup logged the fastest order-to-delivery (OTD) time among trucks in the 2014 model-year, averaging 55 days, a one-day improvement over 2013 figures.

Truck OTD was calculated from order placement to delivery to an upfitter or, if no upfitting was required, to a dealer. The days spent at an upfitter were not included in truck OTD times.

The finding came as part of the results of Automotive Fleet's annual OTD survey jointly completed with seven fleet management companies. The survey also ranked OTD times for cars, vans, and SUVs.

The participating fleet management companies were ARI, Donlen, Element Fleet Management, Emkay, GE Capital Fleet Services, LeasePlan USA, and Wheels Inc. The OTD survey tracked deliveries of 145,836 new vehicles in the 2014 model-year, representing 104 different models.
