Hellwig Products, a manufacturer of towing, hauling, and performance suspension products, has debuted its “Double-Duty” Ford F-150. The truck was built by Old Steel Fabrication in Leona Valley, California, and is outfitted with all the necessary tools and equipment for construction as well as outdoor recreation.

The 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid was chosen as the platform for the “Double-Duty” build because of the new Pro Power onboard generator with 7.2 kWh of available power and its payload capacity. Hellwig Products sway bars were added to the front and rear to improve driver control both on and off-road along with a set of Hellwig Silent Ride helper springs to provide level load support from the added weight of tools, equipment, and recreational gear. An Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 5 suspension system was paired with satin black 17-inch Rebound Pro wheels and 35-inch Falken Wild Peak all-terrain tires for increased clearance and off-road traction.

An AT Overland Equipment Summit bed topper with an integrated pop-up rooftop tent was added to keep tools secure and provide shelter for two when exploring off-grid. A Yakima LockNLoad heavy-duty rack mounted to the truck topper allows for larger items like construction ladders to be easily transported.  An Overland Vehicle Systems Nomadic Awning 270 was also added for shade while working. For added protection on the job site, Addictive Desert Designs Stealth front and rear bumpers were installed along with Rock Slider side steps and a Warn Industries winch with Factor 55 Ultra Hook. Upgraded lighting was provided by Rigid Industries and an aggressive Laser X grille was fitted to the front by T-Rex Grilles.

A variety of Ford performance parts were used, including the Cat-Back Extreme exhaust system to let the F-150’s Powerboost engine breathe. Exterior Ford performance accessories added include exterior trim, differential and transmission pan covers, off-road underbody lighting, an off-road recovery kit, and an ARB air compressor. Additional power-adders include an Injen cold air intake, upgraded intercooler, and charge pipe.

Milwaukee Power Tools supplied an assortment of power tools, while Boxo Tools supplemented with a tool bag and hand tools, all stored in a custom toolbox.

Interior modifications include a custom Katzkinz leather interior, a DeeZee under-seat storage drawer, Ford performance tray style floor liners and vehicle safe by Console Vault.
