InvoiceDealers, a pioneer in Internet automotive marketing, has released the final results of the Year 2001 Popularity Index of cars, trucks, SUVs and minivans. The Ford F-Series was crowned as the Overall Favorite Vehicle, for the consecutive second year. The F-Series survived challenges by the Honda Accord and Honda Civic, which placed first for a combined six months. But zero percent financing eventually helped the F-Series win the title for 2001, according to InvoiceDealers. The F-Series also won first place in Trucks for 22 consecutive months. The Honda Accord finished first in Cars, finally victorious over the Honda Civic. The two competed fiercely, trading first place in Cars six times last year. "The Ford Explorer deserves much congratulation, surviving the Firestone tire recall and fierce competition amongst SUVs," said Eli Kuo of InvoiceDealers. "It edged the Chevrolet Tahoe by just 0.65 to top all SUVs." The Honda Odyssey ran away with first place in Minivans with little contest. The second-placed Toyota Sienna started 2001 with high hopes, only to fall as low as sixth in October. Cars 1 Honda Accord
