Mitsubishi Motors Corp., the fourth-largest Japanese automaker, said it plans to raise the share of U.S. sales it gets from light trucks to about 30 percent from a quarter by releasing two sport utility vehicles in the next year, according to a Bloomberg News story by Kae Inoue. "We are hoping the light truck segment will account for about a third of our total sales," Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America President Pierre Gagnon told a group of reporters in Tokyo. "We want to focus on the market segments that are most profitable and with the highest growth potential." Gagnon said Mitsubishi will have a total of four SUVs by "a year from now," including the U.S. version of its Airtrek, a new unnamed mid-sized SUV, a full-size Montero and a Montero Sport.
