Westport Innovations Inc. has partnered with Knapheide to offer custom vehicle bodies for Ford F-250 and F-350 pickup trucks, with box deletes, that are powered by Westport’s WiNG bi-fuel natural gas fuel system.

Westport will offer its “READY-link” process, which the company described as a mounting process designed to allow the installation of custom Knapheide service bodies over Ford's Super Duty pickup trucks equipped with the Westport WiNG Power System.

Customers using Westport READY-link for Ford F-250 or F-350 trucks can choose to upfit their vehicles with the KNAP-Link 696-50J44-WCNG or Knap-Link 696-50FJ44-WCNG service bodies. The 600-series Knapheide service bodies offer steel construction and external storage for tools and equipment.

Westport’s READY-link service will be available for order on Ford F-250 and F-350 box-delete trucks with the Westport WiNG Power System beginning April 1, 2013. According to the company, the trucks come equipped with a standard 18.4, or an optional 24.5, gasoline gallon equivalent Type-4 composite CNG fuel cylinder. The cylinder starts at $9,500, according to Westport, and is available through Westport-authorized Ford dealerships.
