About the Clean Cities Coalition Sponsored in over 80 cities nationwide by the U.S. Department of Energy, Clean Cities says it provides a framework for increasing the percentage of AFVs in urban areas. Cities form an alliance with local industries and work to create refueling infrastructure, build market demand and transfer and improve technology for AFVs. Visit www.ccities.doe.gov for more information. About the Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition (CACC) CACC consists of over 200 Chicago area stakeholders representing federal, state, and local governments, corporations and small businesses, universities, and non-profit organizations. According to the CACC, their objective is to work with businesses, governments and individuals in implementing alternative fuels and vehicles to convert their fleets to "green fleets". Since alternative fuels have economic advantages, especially with lower fuel costs and government incentives, the Chicago area has experienced significant growth in the domestic fuels market. For more information on these vehicles, fuels, and to see which organizations have implemented green fleets, go to the Illinois Green Fleets website at www.illinoisgreenfleets.org.
