Toyota Motor Corp. led the field as nine midsize cars got the top ranking in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's front-crash assessments, the first time all vehicles in a round of tests earned a "good," according to Bloomberg News. Of the nine 2002 models, five also got the "best pick" designation, including Toyota's Camry, Lexus IS 300 and Lexus ES 300, Honda Motor Co.'s Acura TL, and General Motors Corp.'s Saab 9-5, the insurer-funded IIHS said. Others rated "good" were Ford Motor Co.'s Jaguar X-Type and Volvo S60, Nissan Motor Co.'s Altima and Hyundai Motor Co.'s XG350.
