Nissan North America is issuing two separate recalls affecting the 2014 model-year Versa Note, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

One recall affects 7,782 2014 Versa Notes manufactured April 23 through July 5 of this year. The rear seat latch bolts may have been manufactured incorrectly, weakening their strength. If these latch bolts break, the rear seats may not perform as designed in a crash. This could increase the risk of injury to back seat occupants.

The other recall affects 7,707 2014 Versa Note vehicles manufactured April 23 through July 3 of this year. The lower body sill bolts may be missing or incorrectly torqued. This condition might affect the vehicle's integrity in the event of a rear impact, increasing the risk of injury, NHTSA reported.

Both recalls are expected to get under way Aug. 12. Vehicle owners can reach Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
