Chrysler detailed the highway fuel economy figures for its 2014-MY Dodge Durango, which is boosted by the new eight-speed automatic transmission the automaker previously announced for the vehicle. Fuel economy is up to 25 mpg highway and driving range is 600 miles on a single tank of gas, according to Chrysler, with the 3.6L V-6.

Of the engine options available on the Durango, the 3.6L V-6 engine can produce 290 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque and gets up to 25 mpg highway. All Dodge Durango SXT and Limited models feature this engine. The 5.7L V-8 HEMI V-8 produces 360 hp and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. Its Fuel Saver Technology and new standard eight-speed transmission help this model achieve up to 23 mpg highway.

MSRP for the 2014 Durango starts at $29,795, excluding destination, starting with the SXT model. Chrysler is offering a total of five Durango models for 2014, including SXT, Rallye, Limited, R/T, and Citadel. MSRP for the top-end Citadel model is $40,995, excluding destination.

The Limited model is new for 2014 and delivers the standard features of the SXT plus a number of exterior and interior features, from LED daytime running lamps to Capri leather seating, a heated steering wheel, and safety features, including ParkSense rear park assist and the ParkView rear backup camera, among a range of additional features.

Chrysler also said the 2014 Durango offers a number of standard features on all models, with approximately $3,500 more in added content over the 2013 model. Additional standard content includes the standard eight-speed automatic transmission, projector headlamps, projector fog lamps, a floating split crosshair grille, LED racetrack taillights, bright chrome or body-color accents, 18-inch or 20-inch aluminum wheels, Bluetooth a, 5-inch or 8.4-inch touch screen, a rotary shifter with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a 7-inch customizable gauge cluster, Keyless Enter ’n Go with push-button start, seven airbags, and seating for seven passengers.

New available equipment includes a seatback-mounted Dual Screen Blu-Ray / DVD Players, Forward Collision Warning with full-stop functionality, and heated and ventilated Nappa leather seats.
