LeasePlan USA announced June 11 the launch of ePlan Version 4.0, a new version of the company’s Internet-based fleet management solution that, according to the company, enables clients to access centrally managed data in real-time. LeasePlan says that in addition to the services ePlan’s current version offers, such as ordering, order tracking, driver and vehicle record management, document image retrieval and reporting, version 4.0 has the added capability of Incident Management. Using ePlan 4.0, the company says fleet managers can review the process of an accident from the initial report through subrogation, when applicable. A fleet manager also has the capability of tracking the collision repair process via "Collision Notes" as they are entered by LeasePlan’s accident management department. A future enhancement to ePlan will allow the user to access vehicle images and documents received from the collision facilities. Standard reports for incident management also will be available as a later enhancement to version 4.0. "Providing comprehensive accident information online to our customers saves them both time and money," said William Rodie, LeasePlan’s eBusiness market development manager. "In addition, the ability to access and analyze incident details is very important for developing safety programs and pinpointing specific needs for driver training." LeasePlan claims to be the first fleet management company to bring its clients document image retrieval via the Internet.
