A McLaren MP4-12C has become the latest addition to the Dubai Police’s fleet of luxury patrol cars, joining its recently added Lamborghini Aventador and Ferrari FF, according to a report by gulfbusiness.com.

The new McLaren has been painted in the green and white of the Dubai police, and cost the department approximately $239,400 (2013 edition).

The police MP4-12C is equipped with a twin-turbo 3.8L V-8 engine and produces 616 hp. The vehicle accelerates from 0-60 m/h in 2.8 seconds.

According to the report the Dubai Police has been ramping up its supercars fleet since the start of 2013, introducing a Lamborghini Aventador and a Ferrari FF in April with another group of new luxury sports cars in May, including a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, a Bentley Continental GT, and an Aston Martin One-77.

In November, the police announced four new additions including a second Audi R8, a Mercedes G class Brabus, a Nissan GTR and a Mercedes SL 63, according to the report.

In a statement earlier this year, the Police said it will introduce ‘Police specification’ sports cars into its fleet to “help facilitate policing on highways,” according to gulfbusiness.com.
