VIDEO: What Those Traffic Lane Markings Mean
Traffic lane markings help communicate to drivers what they can and cannot do legally. But even experienced drivers can benefit from a mini-refresher course now and then to remind them of what all the different white and yellow line combinations mean.
For example, what does a yellow solid line next to a yellow broken line mean? Can you pass a slow-moving car if that requires crossing a yellow solid double line? Can you ever make a left turn across a yellow solid double line, or does the line need to be broken where you begin the turn?
