BMW's MINI brand will produce a five-door sedan in four variants for the 2015 model-year with an extended wheelbase and hatchback door.

The sedan hatchback comes as an alternative to the three-door 2015 MINI Cooper announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The new variant will be offered as a MINI Cooper, MINI Cooper S, MINI Cooper D, and MINI Cooper SD.

The D variant will include a four-cylinder diesel engine, while the SD model arrives with a three-cylinder diesel engine.

The wheelbase has been lengthened by 2.83 inches, creating more legroom and foot space around the three seats at the rear of the vehicle.
