Nissan's 2015 Frontier mid-size pickup starts at $17,990 for the Frontier S King Cab 4x2 with an inline-4. The vehicle has arrived at dealer lots, Nissan has announced.

The Frontier finds itself facing increasing competition for the 2015 model year with General Motors' reentering the segment with the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon mid-size pickup trucks, which will start at $21,890 and $22,805 respectively when they arrive in the fall. Toyota hasn't announced pricing for its 2015 Tacoma, but will offer a $200 incentive on its compact pickup.

Nissan is offering its 2015 Frontier in a King Cab and Crew Cab in 4x2 or 4x4. The Frontier's base engine is a 2.5-liter inline-4 that makes 152 hp and 281 lb.-ft. of torque. Nissan also offers a 4.0-liter DOHC V-6 that produces 261 hp and 281 lb.-ft. of torque.

The 2015 Frontier is available in five trim grades, including the Frontier S (4-cylinder and V6), SV, PRO-4X (4x4 only), Desert Runner (4x2 only) and SL (Crew Cab only). The King Cab tops out at $32,610 for the PRO-4X V-6 with a five-speed automatic transmission. The Crew Cab tops out at $36,120 for the SL Crew Cab 4x4 with long wheelbase and V-6 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.
